Pivo supports the usage of Bluetooth microphones and earphones as an audio source for the Pivo+ (video recording and Multistream Live feature) and Pivo Cast. Pivo can also be used with plugged-in mics for both Apple and Android smartphones.
However, if you're using a lavalier microphone, you need to make sure that it's plugged in using a TRRS audio jack, either natively or via an adapter (e.g. TRS to TRRS adapter).
Once you've connected the microphone to your smartphone with the TRS to TRRS adapter, you'll have to make sure that you change the audio input source on your native phone settings to ‘headphones’.
How to change the audio input source
For iPhone
Open the control center on your iPhone and tap the AirPlay icon near the audio controls to get a list of options. Choose ‘headphones’ or the name of your Lavalier microphone as the audio input source.
For Android
Switch the audio device by pulling down the media player’s notification on the notification panel and expanding the media controls. You'll be able to select your external microphone under the audio output section.
Note: The latest generation of smartphones no longer have a 3.5 mm audio jack. We recommend using the original Lightning/USB-C to audio jack adapter provided by your smartphone maker. Also, If your Bluetooth microphone or earphone has to be used with another app, it might not work with Pivo.
